safety at mlb tutorial

Getting your safety at MLB using a MUT roster glitch can be complicated, but it allows you to run this scheme at the highest level possible. Kam Chancellor is the highest overall safety in the game, so right now he’s without a doubt the best player to glitch into the MLB spot. Here is my best explanation of how to get him at MLB, but if you have any questions then please reach out to me or make a post in my Discord and we’ll all do our best to figure it out together.

Instructions

  1. Put one ROLB and one LOLB at the two starting MLB spots in your MUT lineup, and leave the backup MLB spots empty

  2. Put a LE at the starting LOLB spot in your MUT lineup, and leave the backup LOLB spot empty (unless the backup is one of the players you put at a starting MLB spot in Step 1 - this is sometimes necessary for team chem purposes)

  3. Put a RE at the starting ROLB spot in your MUT lineup, and leave the backup ROLB spot empty (unless the backup is one of the players you put at a starting MLB spot in Step 1 - this is sometimes necessary for team chem purposes)

  4. Make sure there are no other MLBs, ROLBs, or LOLBs in your lineup other than the two you put at MLB in Step 1 (including specialists)

  5. Make sure the LE you put at the starting LOLB spot in Step 2 is the highest overall LE in your starting lineup

  6. Make sure the RE you put at the starting ROLB spot in Step 3 is the highest overall RE in your starting lineup

  7. When you get in a game:

    • Pause the game

    • Go to Coaching, and then Depth Chart

    • Press Y or Triangle to auto-reorder the depth chart

    • After your re-order, if you configured your MUT lineup correctly then the starting MLB spots will be completely empty. Therefore, in 43 Even 6-1, the game will automatically put the highest overall player on your entire roster at the MLB spot. This includes offensive players as well

    • Replace Kam Chancellor with another safety (can be done in the depth chart or in the subs screen before calling a play), and he should go to the MLB spot if he’s the highest overall player on your roster

Troubleshooting Guide

NOTE: For testing and practicing this roster glitch, go to Challenges -> The Campaign -> Week 2 -> “Practice 3: Passing Defense”

  1. If you ended up with a linebacker or defensive end at middle linebacker:

    • Go back and double check steps 1-7

    • Check to see if one of your linebackers or defensive ends is the highest overall player on your roster (people have had this issue with fully powered up Elroy Hirsch, and in that case they had to power him down one level)

  2. If you ended up with another player at middle linebacker, it means there is a higher overall player taking his place. Therefore, check the following:

    • Make sure all of your highest overall players are in the starting lineup (if someone is hiding only in Specialists and is a higher overall than Kam Chancellor, then they will be put at MLB)

    • If all of your highest overall players are in the starting lineup, try moving them from starters to backups in the starting lineup

    • If you’re continuing to struggle with the wrong person going to MLB, isolate the problem by removing them from your lineup completely, and then trying the roster glitch again in the Week 2 challenge. Keep removing players and going through the process again until Kam Chancellor ends up at MLB. Then add back your players one at a time, and test each time to see if Kam Chancellor still ends up at MLB. If he doesn’t, then try moving the player you just added back to a different spot in the starting lineup, into a backup role, or maybe to a specialist if nothing else is working.

    • If you’ve followed all of these steps and still can’t get it to work, then reach out for help!
