SMOKE SCREEN DELAY FADE + GLITCH
Smoke Screen Delay Fade
Earlier this year, TE delay fades were extremely popular because you could release them from their block at any time and send them on a route up the field. EA patched the TE delay fades so that they’re borderline unusable now, but you can still create a makeshift “delay fade” using a smoke screen by doing the following (see video for demonstration):
Motion over a WR so that he will be the “outside” WR
While he’s in motion, put him on a smoke screen (RT or R2 on the hot routes menu)
Snap the ball when he gets just past the TE
Rollout to his side and then playmaker him up with the right stick
Smoke Screen Glitch
On some plays, having a smoke screen on the field will cause a glitch where if you roll out of the pocket, all defenders in yellow zones and flat zones will immediately run in at the QB, leaving the middle of the field wide open. So far, the glitch is known to work on Curl Flat out of Gun Trips TE and PA Boot Over out of Gun Bunch TE, but there are likely more plays it works on.
