GUN TRIPS TE DEFENSE

Gun Trips TE has a strong argument for being the best offensive scheme in Madden 22. Made popular by pro player like NoahUpNxt and SpamminButtons, the formation features some of the best route combos in the game and can be an absolute nightmare to defend if you don’t have a solid gameplan.

The three most popular plays in Gun Trips TE are PA Counter Go, Inside Cross, and Double In Sail. If we can guard those plays, then we have a great chance of getting stops on defense.

• Zone Drops - Curl Flats: 5

Setup

• Pinch the defense

• Put the MLB on an inside third

• Shade Down

• QB contain

• Pass commit

• User the safety on the side opposite of the trips

Situational Adjustments

• Put the DE subbed in at DT on a QB spy

• Slant the d-line inside

• Slide the trips side safety outside to guard against “hole shots” along the sideline, over the CB and under the safety)

• Put the slot CB in a curl flat (guard flat routes on the trips side)

• Put the OLB in a curl flat (guard flat routes from the RB)

Post-Snap

• Cover any posts/crossers coming to your side

• For the Inside Cross “Everything Bomb”, your sole responsibility is the deep post

• For PA Counter Go, run with the TE streak initially and then switch to the crosser
